Sole's were a bit of a failed experiment on Hayes part, I've heard of maybe 2 positive experiences with soles.

Its called their caliper alignment system or something. Thats the only way I can or know how to do it.
im sorry i missread a word out of your paragraph, i thought you were referring to setting the tektro brakes, my apologies. i have no experience with the juicy 3s so i cant comment on them

juicy 3's have an annoying squawking noise... i'd go for avid's elixir cr's.... basically the newer model juicy's. They really aren't hard to bleed either

just switched

I got so tired of having to adjust my non-adjustable Shimano 485 hydro that I am going to Avid BB7 that are fully adjustable. Getting a pair of good, fully adjustable hydro brakes was going to be much more expensive and all the reports on the BB7's were stellar so I'm going to give them a try. When my 485's were working they were great but too, too often I would be riding along and they would start squealing. In spite of careful cleaning the pistons would not retract properly and they would squeal far too much when riding. The BB7's can be easily adjusted and I'm looking forward to that.

I've got bb7's on my stumpy. I must say, they are fabulous. Friend of mine runs Hayes hydros. Yes they have a softer feel, but I've got to say, my mech's are no less responsive or lacking on power. I see no reason to change.

I ran v-brakes this weekend and it was all I could do to grab onto the levers hard enough and hope I slowed down!
