Mountain Biking in Florida
What are your favorite spots? I grew up just a few miles from Santos so that one wins it for me.

Razorback is nice. I'd like it more if you could mix up the course a little bit.

Alafia is the closest and my "regular" spot.
Carter Road in Mulberry is a nice change.
Sign up with RidgeRiders.net and you'll gain access to the T.O.E., which is great for stunts and DJing.
Tampa area has Flatwoods which is good for training.
Obviously Santos is my favorite, but a bit of a drive.
Razorback is a lot of fun, but also far.
Gainesville has a killer trail system near the Gatorback MX track, but it's private and you can only ride it the day before and the day of the XC race held there, only twice a year.
Tallahassee has some sweet trails, Red Bug and Tom Brown Park.
S.FL is not to be forgotten with Quiet Waters and ???? the name escapes me right now.

p.s. That comment does not violate the rules, so why would you delete it (twice now) a2psyklnut?
p.p.s Why would you change my signature (and delete your original "i'm coming"
post), that shows your hypocrisy a2psyklnut? Does it make you uncomfotable?

Anything near Jacksonville/St. Augustine? My dad lives down there, might bring my bike next time I go visit. He has a bike he hasn't ridden in years too. maybe I can get him to take it down and use it

There's a few places. Here's a couple:
Fort Clinch State Park (Fernandina Beach)
What To Expect: There are about three miles of newly completed, scenic, wooded, one way, single track. Another three miles are under construction. Terrain is rolling with climbs, dips and other challenging features for beginning through expert riders. Trails are open to hikers.
Directions:
I-95 north or south to Exit #129. East on state route A-1-A. through Fernandina Beach. The entrance to the Fort is on A-1-A (Atlantic Avenue) just before the ocean (Fletcher Avenue). Admission is $3.25 per car including up to eight people. Ride-in admission is $1 per person.
Hanna Park
Directions:
From 1-95, take Atlantic Blvd east toward the beach. Take the Mayport Road exit (toward the Mayport base - north) and follow road until close to the end. You will see signs for Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park. Turn right off of Mayport into the park, $1.00 admission. Park up front as soon as you get into park, main trail entrances are to right of entrance, other trails to the left and down a bit. Park has more than just biking trails - beach, picnic areas, surfing, fishing, etc. The bike trails are for biking only - there are separate hiking trails. They have maps at the entrance booth.

We have two trails in the Pinelog State Forest in the Panama City area. One we call Pinelog, the other is Crooked Creek. You can put the two trails together for a pretty good 18.3 mile ride. The trail is single track, mostly hardpack with a shallow layer of sand on top.
We are having a 12 hour race on Pinelog November 13th (https://www.geocities.com/hnlbicycle/...ty_Flyers.html). Come join us. Concurrently there will be a metric century road ride in the hills between Ebro and Ponce de Leon State park.
Another good ride is Lines TracK on the west end of Lake Talquin which is just west of Tallahassee. Some nice hills and views of the lake. It's about 9 miles of single track.
I stay well enough in shape on these trails and road-riding the hills near Wausau and Red Bay that I'm able to do fine in N Georgia (like: Bull Mountain complex, Fort Mountain and Unicoi) and N Carolina (Tsali). I go up there for two or three two-week stints a year.
