Tour of Nilgiris: 19000 km in Day 1

    Hi,

India's most coveted Biking Tour, the TFN-2010 started on Dec 16th 2010 from Bagalore, India.
It promises to cover 1000 km in next 7 days' riding!
100 chosen bikers did 190 km cycling though the beautiful National Forests, rolling hills, Cauvery River Valley and backroads of Nilgiri on the Day1.
It was an awesome day to be a biker at TFN and check out the blog with 40 odd pictures to gauge the essence of this amazing Day 1.
    The blog is at- http://manasij.wordpress.com/2010/12/17/

    Cheers,
    Manasij

My metric is not that good, but isn't 19000 kilometers like riding half way around the world?

    sounds tough.

    Only 8 days of riding:

TFNTen, the 2010 edition of the Tour, is bigger, longer and prettier! It will see a 100 riders cover over a 1000kms. There are 2 major climbs to Ooty and then to Sultan Bathery that should test and satiate the climbers, and provide enough photo-ops to everyone.

    Ah, here is the math....

    Day 1 was 190 km
    100 bikers did it

So, the total distance the riders covered 190 X 100 = 19,000 km on Day 1.

Hope that demystifies the number a bit :-)

    Nice pics on the blog!

Ps: so since it's 190 riders x 100km = 19000km, does that mean, assuming each rider is say 80kg, times 190, total weight of riders = over 15 tons That is one phat ride!
