    Shoe advice

What type of shoes or brand would go great with platform pedals ? My average tennies isnt cutting it. Got a nice set of kona wah wah pedals that I am pleased with other than the shoes.

5.10s are definitely high on most everyone's list but don't count out the 661 Filters.

The Impacts are great - super durable - but fiveten has many other riding shoe offerings worth checking out.

IME they run true to size across the line.

I normally ride clipless, but if I know I'm going to ride something sketchy and ride my platforms, I lace up my Vans. (Note to self: no more suede Vans). Of course, most any skateboard shoe is going to have a good, soft, rubbery, flat sole that will grip onto whatever protrusions your platforms have. Then, tuck your laces in once tied.

I like Converse as a brand. Any of their 3/4 high cross shoes give ankle support and last forever. I 've gotten them covered in mud while riding, back in the Colorado/ New Mexico days. You just slam em on rocks to loosen the mudd and keep riding.
I think its disgusting and terrible how people treat Lance Armstrong, especially after winning 7 Tour de France Titles while on drugs!

Skate shoes don't even compare to the Impact. They're not bad, and I use a pair of DC's on occasion because they're a little more comfortable, but the Impact is a totally different level. The Impact sticks like glue. Also, the sole is stiffer than a skate shoe's for better power transfer.

    Fixed.

Seriously, what Zephyr says; just fill in the blank with a good bike-specific platform pedal shoe. They aren't just skate shoes with more padding. Toe box is more robust to protect from strikes and the midsoles are stiffer to transfer power better.
