Dual Suspension, what to look for?
Is there a better position for the rear suspension to be on a dual suspension bike? Like what differs the good ones from the cheaper ones? (i.e. pivot location, spring, where it all connects).
What should i be lookin for? Is a Y frame better?

Still kicking.
They Y-frame is the worst FS bike frame ever made.

Front and rear suspension would be a good start.

Horst linkage I believe, or a similar design is most desireable. I don't know much about rear suspension systems, so I'll read it too.

That is one of the better explanations. There are so many variables involved and it also depends on what you want (very active or good pedaller etc...) Fr your first dually...buy one and play a lot...year or two. Play on your friends bikes. You will know later what you need/want

[QUOTE=Raiyn][color=blue]Specialized makes EXCELLENT dual suspension bikes based off the Horst linkage https://www.specialized.com/sbc4Bar.jsp?a=b They were great before the advent of "stable platform" shocks they're even better with the new shocks. My next dual squish WILL be another FSR.
My cookie at the above link expired!!!! I'm gonna get food poisoning!
I've been drooling over the FSR's, they look so dang sweet to me. I only have hardtail, and I have been planning on saving up for a FSR of some sort from Specialized.

I put it at the same level as the FSR(not the FSR XC, the standard FSR)

Personally I think the fsr is better. I couldn't stand the feel of the liquid. Very very soft feeling suspension even when sprung for my weight.

As for rear suspension, my favorite is Rocky Mountain's 3D link. It's a simple design which is light, strong and climbs very well.

Hopper, you're right, also known as a siege engine. There are a scary number of websites about how to build a full sized siege engine .

-Stretch- Have you seen the websites that tell you how to build a potato gun out of large bore PVC and hairspray as a propellant? All I can say is "God bless America!" - those things are awesome but would probably get you arrested in the UK .

me and my friends made a co2 powered potatoe gun(cannon). and daaaaang that thing could launch potatoes far! We shot it once, deemed it way to dangerous(i.e. cool) and disassembled it.
