I went with the Kona
Well, I decided to go with the 2004 Cinder Cone. I liked the feel more than the rockhopper, and the guy I bought it from was in my opinion nicer and more knowledgable than the guy that ran the shop where the rockhopper was. Thanks for all the help with my decision! I think I made the right choice.

Great choice; it's a lot of nice bike for the price! I know what you mean about the attitude of the shop. Buying a nice bike is about a lot more than just plunking down the coins and riding away. I've worked with shops where I gladly would have paid full list price or more, and shops where no deal was good enough if there was a chance I would have to work with them again. Attitude and service make the difference.

Great choice!! I've been a long time Specialized rider but my next bike is looking to be a Kona.

Nice, I love my '02 Cinder Cone. I don't ride it much, so I may be selling it before long. But I love it too much to let it sit in a corner all the time.

The bike shop where you get it makes all the difference.
