Average MTB speeds on flat paved road?
When riding a MTB on a route you would normally use a road bike for (flat, well paved roads) what kind of speeds do you average? With 26x2.10 knobby tires my cyclocomputer reports 24km/h for a 2 hour ride... This is with a rather heavy bike and platform pedals (27 pounds).

18-20mph on a raleigh talus, 28lbs with my lights, water bottles, etc on it.
If I want to really bust my arse, i can hold about 25 on it...only time I did that was to get a chance to flip off the light rail operator who didnt even stop for me while I was at the station....well, the look on his face was great when I was at that station as well with my finger extended
....SJ light rail is slow as all heck....if a fat man can outrun it on a mtb, that's sad...sad in a sad sad way....
