Wheel upgrade for Trek ex7
My ex7 has served me well for the past several years but it's starting to feel rather heavy. I don't do any real hard riding (age, injuries and fear) anymore but still enjoy some xc trails and "casual" downhill.
Anyway, I still have stock wheels and wondering if I can save much weight with a new set. I'm thinking custom with CK hubs (because they look and sound cool) as they seem to be well respected, quality hubs. Beyond that I have no idea. Any suggestions on rims, spokes and what sort of weight I can expect in a decent, but not over the top, set? Any recommendation on a builder or company making good mtb wheels? Thanks.
