I need new rims

I need some rims that won't bend at all, I need better rims for a diamonback coil I hate the rims I have now and I need Better ones Please help. I need suggestions on what to get because I am not the best at choosing And I want to know past experiences, I ride at a intermediate and hard core too, (like 4 foot drops) so I obviously need better than cheap stock rims, and I have 11 dollars an I am 13 and have no job. So, I need a bang for a buck.

rasheed 10-23-04 09:33 PM

you're joking, right?

nepaMTBer 10-23-04 09:44 PM

$11.00?? You might be able to buy a poster of a wheelset you would like but dont count on it.

cryogenic 10-23-04 10:05 PM

I don't think he could even get a wheelset for 110, assuming he accidentally left off a zero. $11? That might get you some new spokes...

Dannihilator 10-23-04 10:33 PM

You might be able to get 2 spokes and a couple of nipples for $11.00. My suggestion is use the wheels that are on them and use them until they explode. $11.00 won't even get you a rim off of a depot store bike.

Maelstrom 10-23-04 10:33 PM

hmmm...I could say you 4 spokes and a nipple :)

Aus_MTB 10-23-04 10:54 PM

Umm...

Wow, i wont go on again about the $11 budget but... Wow...

I really hope you are joking about this, but if you are interested in getting a decent set of rims you will be looking at ALOT more than that.

Btw 4 foot isnt small but it isnt "hardcore" either...

Edit: Is there anything actually wrong with your current rims? If they dont feel right they must just need to be trued.

Inoplanetyanin 10-23-04 10:59 PM

What kind of "bang" do you expect for your buck? :)

A wheelset for $11? For your 10 pound bike?

sparks_219 10-24-04 08:27 AM

lmao...this guy is starting all sorts of ridiculous threads...I think he's just toying with us.

But for $11 dollars, why dont you go out to the forest, find some dead sticks, use them as your spokes, and bend some strips of plywood as your wheel?? You still may go over the $11 budget though :(

That'll be $11 sir.

seely 10-24-04 09:27 AM

I have to think this guys threads are a joke... they all start with "Im 13 have no job and $11 but I want to do this super expensive upgrade..."

Mtnbike247365 10-24-04 05:36 PM

Man, I didn't know. i was saying i had 11 dollars you guys just totally like flipped out come on, I don't know all that much but I do know some why did you guys try to humiliate me like that, thats not cool.

hooligan 10-24-04 05:42 PM

11 bucks. SERIOUSLY, you can't even get a stem for that. 11 bucks ain't gonna get you crap. Times have changed, 11 bucks is really a small amount. Do you expect to get something for that much? We didn't flip out. We just thought you were crazy.

phantomcow2 10-24-04 06:52 PM

well...the cheapest you can really get rims. well i saw a pair for 9.95 on amazon. Im a sceptic of its quality, you know for 11 dollars you just get a small pizza or two coolatas @ dunkin donuts

Mtnbike247365 10-27-04 05:52 PM

ok well, i'll saye up, now i have 16 dollars, don't flip out i'll get more

DjRider04 10-27-04 06:28 PM

You could buy a few spokes.

forum*rider 10-27-04 06:31 PM

Get about $500 and then come back.

nepaMTBer 10-27-04 07:00 PM

I think its good that your saving up. You wont need $500 but youll need a fair amount of money. Mybee some people could give him some suggestions for when he does have the money?

enduro 10-28-04 12:32 AM

Rhyno Lites on XT hubs...strong and a good value. They're still several hundred dollars though.

i have a bike 10-28-04 12:36 AM

i think that the best rims are alex supra's

cryogenic 10-28-04 12:41 AM

on a side note, what are those yellow wheels? Are they Mavics?

Wrong. He only needs $104 + S&H more to get Rhyno lites on XT http://www.pricepoint.com/detail/120...-Lite-Rims.htm
If he can wait that long they have Rhyno Lites on LX for $100.

Looks like Mavic DeeMax

cryogenic 10-28-04 12:54 AM

That's what I was thinking... as their other high-end wheelset is the CrossMax. I'm assuming DeeMax = downhill rim. CrossMax = XC rim. :)

everyone also seems to be recommending the RhynoLites on XT hubs... RhynoLite > DitchWitch, I'm guessing. My bike came spec'd with Sun DitchWitches and I figured I'd ride them til they look like eggs then upgrade. Hopefully that's later rather than sooner.
