good looking out fellas, thanks for the kind words.
pirate, not sure if you're familiar with redwood road or lake chabot, but i was probably exactly in between oakland and castro valley. took a really hard fall (in no man's land at this point) and i'm guessing that bent the derailleur hanger. bled seven miles back down the hill to my car, somehow the hanger sheared off somewhere along the way.
liquefied; yea, just the hanger.
