Bike makes a multiple clicking sound when pedaling?

Bike makes a multiple clicking sound when pedaling?
My mountain bike makes a multiple clicking sound when pedaling fairly hard and after about 20 mins of riding. It only makes the sound on the right side of the crank, and is more prominent when pedaling harder. It started randomly one day while riding and i have no idea why. I tried tightening the cranks but it didn't stop. I have no idea what the problem is and i am worried something might strip or get ruined.

Well, have they ever fallen off or come loose... the interface may have ovalized... you should also check the crank spider-bolts are tight and that everything is lubed. Have you check for cracked bb? is the bb itself wearing out and loose?
