Question about cranks.

I have some older Truvativ Stylo Team cranks. There's the center area that the chain-rings bolt to. That center piece seems like it can be taken off and replaced separately. I can't seem to find any info online, but it may be because I don't know the search term I need. What is that center piece called? I'd like to figure out if I can replace it with a smaller BCD piece that would allow me to run a 30t chain-ring.

That's exactly what I'm looking for! So I have to find a crank spider for my crank-set with a BCD smaller than 104. Thanks for the helpful nudge in the right direction. I couldn't find what that thing was called.

Your better off buying a new crankset, as the rings will cost more than a complete crankset........

I'm only going to be running a 1X9, so I'll only need the one 30t ring. I might even be able to find one in "like new" condition for next to nothing. Living in a major college biking town, I've had good luck with WTB postings on my local CL. If I find a spider for $30 and a ring for $15 then I'm still only in for $45 rather than $80+ or something for a new crank-set worthy of hard-ish use.
