Will a 17.5" frame be right for me (6 foot, 32 inch leg)?

Will a 17.5" frame be right for me (6 foot, 32 inch leg)?

    I found a nice Canondale that's a good price.

Some of the calculators say I should be about 18-19 inches, but some also say, "look into 17.5-21 as well."

I'm just wondering how a bike that that would suit me for light singletrack and hardpack trails.

    Thanks
    I'm two-tired to ride today.

off the bat it sounds too small for you, but it depends on the bike. an 18" trek is too big for me, an 18" rocky mountain is perfect. only way to really really know is to sit on it.

1+ It depends on the make of bike, if at all possible get on it first. One of my riding pals is about your size and usually rides large or 19 , but I have a GF paragon in 17.5 as a back up bike that I loaned him for a few days that fits him perfect with a couple of adjustments to the seat and stem.

+1 depends on frame. Check out the Effective Top Tubes in geometry charts. My wild guess is you'd want something in the 58-60cm range for an XC ride at your height, but only you can know that for sure by noting the specs of the bikes you test ride.

Gunnar's 17" frames have a 60cm top tube but a lot of other frames will have you on an 18-20 to get that long a TT.

    I have an 18" Trek 4000 that has about a 56cm TT. 15" Mongoose with 56cm TT. 20" KHS with a 60cm TT. ...
