Mavic Crossride help!

Hello,
I have a 2010 Mavic Crossride wheelset that has worked great until now. I took the rear wheel to the mechanic and he pointed out that it has cracks at the eyelets. Apparently some other mechanic overtightened it and now it is just a matter of time before fatal failure (his words, not mines). Now, I need to replace the rim apparently, the hub works great and the spokes are in good shape, what would work best is to actually change the rim itself but given that mavic sells it by wheelset, I don't think I can find the rim only. Is there a way this can happen? would any of you recommend a 28 hole rim to replace it? disc or v brake it does not matter. Please some direction on this problem!

You can order the rim through your Mavic dealer. They should be able to rebuild it to the same hub and spokes. If you go to another rim, there's a strong chance you'd need spokes of a different length.
