Air shots for mtb flats

So I have several CO2 air shots and a device to inflate tires with them. Could I use this instead of my hand pump. The hand pump is not very good and I am a broke unemployed college student so I am trying to use what I have on hand.

I had a flat the other day while riding and I had to pull off the trail because I got maybe 25 psi's into my new tube.

Lets hear everyones experiences/opinions/thoughts

They're best used as a get-me-home (or get-me-to-the-Finish-line) measure. For one thing, CO2 quickly seeps through butyl rubber inner tubes, as strange as that must sound... fill a road-bike tire to 80psi with a CO2, and it'll be really soft the next day. Also, if you have more flat tires than you came equipped for, you'll be walking. I usually take an inflator and a small pump.
