How Tight?

How tight should these be??? I was out for my first ride of the season and they came really loose, luckily my friend had the right tools and i tightened them back up right there. The other guy I was riding with said it has something to do with being so cold, then warming up on the ride, but anyways, how tight do I crank them?

As tight as you can get them. A little locktite helps too! If you use a torque wrench set it at 300 in-lbs.

Crank bolts should be retorqued about 50mi/80km after (re)installation.

To answer the question for A2psyklnut, it's in the code. It returns the name of whichever user is logged on. Look at the Happy Birthday thread in the jokes forum. That's how it all got started. OK Dirtgrinder? <-----See?

Make a final check to make sure the cups are properly tightened to 50 Newton meters or two grunts.
