Check out these pedals are spd cleats good for these they seem to work?
 

Hey guys, i was having alot of issues with the egg beaters so a buddy of mine gave me these Nashbar pedals he got a few years ago but never used...they have clipless and platforms on both sides and he gave me a brand new pair of Shimano SPD cleats but he wasant sure it they were right for these, i put on the pedals which i love...they have the + and - adjustment screw and i have a MUCH easier time clipping out, i was just curious if the SPD cleats are correct for these pedals as the mechanisim looks a litle different from most Shimano pedals, they seem to work just fine...i called Nashbar and they couldnt find out much on these as they dont malk them anymore, the model number has a VP and a three digit number so he said they were probably made by the company VP for Nashbar and that they are most likley SPD compatible...anyway heres a pic, i just want to make sure i have the right cleats i dont see any others that would work with them anyway

from what I can find on the web it looks like they are s p d compatible, and like I said they seem to work just fine, much better than my egg beaters, looking to leave well enough alone just ride!

The small difference in appearance is nothing. If you are clipping in and out to your satisfaction, then get riding and wear them out. The main issue is getting out. (IMHO) If you need to bail you don't want a big along for the tumble. Nashbar is one of my 4 or 5 favorite sources.

I have an old set of Victors (VP) that I got as a schwag prize some time back and they are SPD-compatible. In fact I think I'm using a set of SPD-compatible Specialized cleats with them. A truly stepchild setup, I know, but they seem to work alright.
