Cara Magura hydraulic disc brakes on a CannondaleSuper VSL 400?

Hey guys, I haven't been riding in a few years and I am starting again. I just got a nice full suspension cannondale. Here's the bike:

https://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...e=STRK:MEWN:IT

Now I am looking into a getting a set of disc brakes for it. I came across a set of Cara Magura hydraulic disc brakes from a K2 Disco Monkey. I am new to disc brakes on mountain bikes and was wondering if I could swap these on. I haven't gotten the bike in my hands yet so i have nothing to look at. Anyone here have experience with this?

Thanks for the help, Bobby.

You can get the discs, but good luck getting the rear one to mount since there isn't any rear disk brake tabs. There are no front ones for a matter of fact.

Yeah... that bad boy is V-brake only, unfortunately. It's not exactly a brand new bike, being that it has an STX drivetrain. If I recall, the STX stuff was 7-speed, not 8 or 9. Still, it's by no means a horrible bike and it should be a decent bike to learn on. It should serve you well, you just won't be able to run discs. Buy it, enjoy it, ride the hell out of it. Then when you're sure you like riding a FS bike, go out and buy a more expensive one that's already disc-equipped.

I guess the newer ones must only have the capabilities for disc brakes.

You guys think I got a good deal? The bike is barely used. I thought $400 for the bike seemed like a good deal since it's in such good condition.
