Hi, Dave - welcome to the forums.

I'm down-south a bit from you and am an occasional XC rider (leisure, not racing), but mainly a commuter.

I don't know a lot about trials riding, are there a lot of trials riders in your neck of the woods - I'd imagine downhillers are pretty scarce

Richard

Hey davetrials. Nice to have you aboard. I don't know if you'll find too much in the way of observed trials, but my sons have dabbled in it quite a bit. My oldest has a pretty nice site that you may not have seen.Trials On-Line That's my youngest son in the gallery on the rocks. The oldest (he is webmaster and designer for the site) is in there too. The site was featured a last year in Mountain Biking UK.

I personally haven't tried it except in the backyard on my son's bikes. They both have custom frames and components and have competed a bit. Also have lots of friends that are darn good trials riders.

We are just waiting for spring to arrive here so everyone in the cold midwestern United States can get out and enjoy the day. Currently, snow, cold and wet. Spring is here but you wouldn't know it.

Im 22 from toronto, and ride almost stricktly trials. the trials scene in T.O. is growing rapidly......but its still hard to find shops that carry trials specific bikes and parts. I want to buy a Planet X, or a Orange but theyre hard to find here in Canada.

Hi Bikeman,

Your sons have talent!

I gave trials a crack a few years back, but never stuck with it...I guess I'm a cross country rider through and through...

Cheers

Rich

I REALLY want to learn trials, i've been saying that for a year, i think this year i will follow through with it. I haven't come across any trials riders here in sudbury, ontario.

Oh and have a great time on the Shore. I haven't been, but people i know say its a dream.

Hi Dave,

how would you rate yourself as a trials rider? It seems that the sport has a really large number of talented riders in the UK, doing techniques that wouldn't have been tried say three or four years ago!!

Cheers

Rich

that would be awsome....I have only found one store that has 1 Planetx Zebdi for sale for $650 Canadian. trials is still really small in T.O. Which is cool. I've heard bad things about Brisa's. i have a buddy that claims to have gone through 3 brisa frames in the past year. i think the Planet x and Orange are a bit tougher bikes. When i get my scanner up and running, ill post some pics of my rides.

There is no way that you could have possibly tried hard or long enough. You just joined the forums and you found out about trialsonline here! Doing something like trials is going to take hours, and hours, and probably years to do some basic stuff.
