LMAO! Do you guys actually know what a townie is? Dont mean to be disrespectful bnut they are a SERIOUS problem in the UK and wasnt sure if America had the same kind of problem...

If you dont: Definition of a 'townie'

Townie - Drunk, stoned and shagged all at the same time, starts on anything with a pulse, hangs around town until early hours getting drunk with his/her townie mates
Infamous for stealing bikes, cars and anything else, 80% of vandalism in Cornwall is caused by townies.

Give away signs of a townie - Wears caps with hood over the top, speech is usually slurred, if you look at them in a cetain way you better get ready for a hiding....

Good townie Jokes to do with cycling....

Why dont you ever run over a townie on a bike...?

Because the bike is probably yours...

So, hope everyone understands what it is now, and why they are such a pain in the ass!

I'm from North Devon, Bideford seeing you ask. We got so many townies and townie-related problems recently. They hang around wherever we wanna ride. And I did actually know what a townie is, but thanks for backing me up y'all...

Cool. Bideford has no riding places. A BMX track and a limited sized wood or two and a skate park. Everywhere else is owned by... ...townies!

Hehe, Well, most of the own is owned by them, and the skatepark too, but they dont know about this quarry so far so its all good, so, you have very few trails so your riding is very street oriented then?

What type of riding do you actually do?

Freeriding, but mainly street and dirt jump. Can't downhill - my bike is not strong enough. Can't trial - my balance is crap. I like the skatepark as I can do SOME very limited trials tricks, but mainly street - benches, walls, fences, slides, banks, steps etc. What about you?

Well, i was an XCer.... still am to some degree but im well up for a bit of Jumping now, and street and trials are starting to appeal to me aswell...

Basically, anything with a reasonable height is fun to throw myself off Your riding sounds similar to mine and my mates, you up for coming down to cornwall or meeting up somewhere with a group of our mates? Btw, what you riding anyway?

That would be cool. We wanted to do a big road trip sometime in June/July 2005 anyway.

My ride:
Frame: Saracen X-ile 2003
Fork: Marzocchi Z1 Wedge 2003
Brakes: Magura HS33 Evo2 2005
Drive: Truvativ Hussefelt 42T chainring, Truvativ Giga Pipe BB
Rear Mech: SRAM 9 spd cassette, SRAM X-0 Derailleur, SRAM X-9 Shifter
Wheelset: Hopefully a set of Halo SAS 26" Black F&R
Standard saddle, seat post, bars, headset and stem.

What are you riding?
