What Kind of Brakes for This Old Cannondale ?

What type of brakes go on this bike ? I have a similar bike that could really use some new brakes, but not sure the correct term for this type of boss. Thanks

Those are U-brakes. Because of the positioning of the brake posts, you're not going to be able to update it to V-brakes. They're still common on BMXs though, and BMX suppliers carry a lot of them.
