Look for date codes on the derailleurs, this will help determine the year.

https://vintage-trek.com/component_dates.htm#shimano

Normally I'd be willing to cruise bikepedia.com and find your model for ya, but in 2010 there were 6 different 26er Rockhoppers, fercryinoutloud!

Looks identical to my 2005 Rockhopper. Yup, that's what it is. While I moved to dual sus for my main ride, I kept the Rockhopper as my hardtail ride until last week when I picked up a Stumpy. My 23 year old son is crazy over that Rockhopper so I'm giving it to him.
I've made a lot of changes to that yellow bike, but the one that made a huge difference was moving to a used, Fox F-100 to replace the heavy Axle fork. Enjoy the ride, I think you got an outstanding buy for $130.

The Truvativ cranks gave way to SHimano Hollowtech I and the XT V brakes were traded in for BB-7s since this pic was taken. I always thought the Rockhopper was a very stable bike, very forgiving.

To answer your second question, All the parts you have listed are original on that Rockhopper. You didn't mention that you also have an Alivio front DR. It's a POS. If you have trouble shifting the front DR, try a tune up. If that doesn't work, get rid of that front derailer for nothing less than a Deore level, preferably an LX level front DR. That's the only component I had trouble with. I change a lot of components on mine over time, only because I came across the parts for cheap. All the parts I took off the Rockhopper landed up on an 06 Hardrock that we keep for trips and visitors. With the exception of that POS front DR, they're all still working well.

Huh, weird. I've an 1999 Acera FD and that thing is great. I was always leery of the shimano A-group stuff, but no more. That derailer has also turned me into an E-type junkie.

The 2005 hopper doesn't have E-type of course so it could be a whole nother story for standard A-group derailers.

Good point. Maybe I just had a bad one, it happens.

yeah i hadnt noticed i didnt list the front driller but yeah its alivio... it took a tune with out a problem

rocco were your crank arms green as well?

as for the other parts ill be changing out the front gears as it appears some one milled down some table saw blades and mounted them to the crank... there toast...

finished cleaning the bike tonight the previous owner loved him the **** out of marine grease as this is 2 nights in a row i have spent removing road tar n less then 1mm thick on all mving parts

as for the pictures ill take some better once i get this bike cleaned up better... i used my phne to take them

oh yeah as well the front left brake was missing the spring (were broken off) so i picked up a new pair of shimano um yeah for $18 at the lbs...

other things it needs...
new rubbers... 1.75 is way to narrow and thin for my liking and the purple is starting to show through
new front gears as there chewed and i don't want to file them
new chain because i really don't want to spend the time cleaning it like i have the rest of the bike

its winter and i am cleaning the rest of the bike so i plan to rebuild the front shock (new seals at the minimum) colder weather = thinner oil correct? so do i want to go 5wt or 3.5wt?

well heres some slightly better photos still a lot of grease packed here and there but much better then it was....

the previous owner was ok at maintaining it with grease but not so ok with cleaning the bike every surface had a layer of mud and gunk on it that blackened your hands just touching it.... there's deffinatly many of hundreds of miles left in it

Looks good to me.
To answer your question, the color of the Truvativ crank is black, not green. Maybe its the gunk on yours that changed the color.
The BB on mine is square taper, I'm guesing yours is the same. If you're going to change out the Tru-Vativ crank, there are lots of inexpensive used cranks on the bay that would fill your needs nicely.
Good idea to rebuild the Axle fork. I like Manitou forks, I just like Fox more.
When I pick up a used bike, the first thing I check is the chain wear. Sounds like yours needs replacing, but I would only make that change after changing the chain wheels.
Again, good luck with that ride, it should provide lots of good times for you.
PS, If you've got some spare change, keep an eye out for older mid and/or high end, non disc wheelsets for sale cheap. Guys that changed over to disc have sets of Mavic wheels and other brands that are gathering dust cause they've got no use for them. I picked up a set of Mavic 221's for $32 that are now on our Hardrock. I have a set of Mavic SUP 517's that I just took off the Rockhopper when I upgraded to disc last week. I only paid $45 for them two years ago and I'll be putting them on my 88 Nishiki beater.
