Holy cats - - Syncros SOLD!

My world is falling apart. My favorite component company in the whole world is under new ownership as of Jan. 3. (ignorant me, I didn't find out until I went to their web site tonight).

Ritchey Design sold the Syncros brand to Scott Sports. Looks like they're going to branch out of their gravity emphasis and add more XC goods and even road components. I presume that means no more "born and bred on the 'Shore" any more . . . but all the same, I wish them the best.

Whoopdedoo. Weren't they dead/sold/brought back to life once before anyhow? The most recent iteration wasn't the same as the earlier one anyhow.

Unless thye turn them into a rebranded catogogue name, no worries.

Will that make me a complete homie **** if I follow through on putting a pair of Syncros platforms on my Scott bike. I've about worn out the Wellgos and want to spice it up.

I did put on a nice red pair of Oury Lockons for Christmas.

I thought Ritchey and Scott were kinda like cousins anyway?
I think its disgusting and terrible how people treat Lance Armstrong, especially after winning 7 Tour de France Titles while on drugs!

Oh, I know. They were actually sold to GT for a bit I think before Ritchey rescued them. I think I was just a little shook because my source of supply has likely dried up. I had a feeling something would change after Marshall Cant in Vancouver retired. He was the hub of all their R&D. Will be interesting to see if they keep up their burlier lines in the process of spreading their efforts so wide. Als up in the air whether they'll just be an OEM house brand or if they'll be able to keep their aftermarket going.

They are closely allied; and that's one reason they sold it to Scott. Scott had spec'd a lot of Syncros bits on their bikes of late. You'll fit right in if you get them Syncros pedals.

Syncros left with Pippin. I still have some revolution cranks in a drawer waiting for square taper to make a comeback.

    Sorry bout your hookup d.

^^ Thanks. Been with them a long time. Still remember how downright giddy I was getting that cell phone call strolling the main street of Park City on vacation.

Hey, a little machining could convert those cranks to ISIS, couldn't it? Isn't the square taper interface just pressed into the steel sleeve on the big end?

I can only find Meat Hooks on ebay. Is that the model of choice?
