$600, what bike can i buy, i do dirt jumping, small drop offs around meter and under(rarely a meter). Hardtail is fine with me, and i can go up $50 or possibly $100, but $600 what do you recommend. I was told kona shred 2005 was $600?

for those who remember me asking this stuff, i am still unclear, sorry. Hopefully the feed back will show me the way.

still fits into his budget sorta... he said he could go up $50, so that might fit in.. Looks like a decent bike, though. Nice bike to start with. I dunno that you can do much better for that price range. My Specialized Hardrock Pro, by comparison was $685 and it's a prety good bike. It's not a specific DJ bike, but it would suffice rather well as an urban bike. I'm not a big fan of the wheels, though. I did get lucky and mine came spec'd with BB7 mech discs instead of BB5's like it was supposed to.

You should buy the stinky like you said you were. If that fails, look for something second hand cos you're not going to find anything decent for that much new.

Dont bother buying a bike just because its on sale and you dont like it, save up abit more money and buy a better bike... it'll repay you in the long run... Rather than a cheap bike that will die on you and you spend have of your riding time fixing, in my opinion, the jump from a £200 to £400 bike is immense, i never realised it would be so much different, dont know what that is in AUS, but i would recommend saving your money for something abit more dependable, rather than wasting your money on a cheap bike
