Nothing high end, but Gary Fisher makes a decent geared bike in a 20" format that you could always upgrade! https://www.fisherbikes.com/bikes/bik...ids&bike=Cosmo

There isn't much of a market for high-end kids bikes. For two reasons; 1)they outgrow them too quickly and 2) most kids(not yours or mine of course!) are abusive to bikes and don't appreciate the fine craftsmenship invoved in a good bike!

I seem to recall Giant doing a bike that could grow with the kid. Don't know the spec of components though.
