W00t new helmet
Alright,
I got this ehelmet beacuse my skateboard helmet was too big and it was really loose, no matter how hard I tighten it. It was just too big.
I got a red specialized airwave, check it out at www.specialized.com in helmets. It was only 19.19 plus tax. Supposedly it was 60 dollars plus tax at first. Can anyone confirm this? Or is it supposed to be like 30 dollars?
The helmet also came with specialized decals. Should I put them on my kona? I wonder....would I be a traitor?
I also got a new jacket, but that's another story.

you would...Unless it says specialized helmets. Than it's cool. But if it's just plain specialized, traitorology!
Looks like a good price and it looks like regular store price on this bad boy would be around $40

Yeah. Sportchek always puts a price tag saying that they're on sale. They're usually not.

Alright. But raiyn, seriously, it's twice as good? You used an airwave before?
Also, like I know there's cpsc standard, what else is there? I sort of remember something thats like ASCI or something? Is that supposed to be more suited to hardcore riding?

That helmet will protect your head just as well as a $100 XC helmet. As XC helmets get more expensive, they do not get safer. I don't know if that applies to full face helmets, though.

Is it just comfort, looks and weight for price? Also, didn't kona get an xc helmet with different safety standards? Like, better than cpsc?

Yes, the higher price is for less weight, looks, and more vents. The Kona helmet would only be safer if it met the Snell standards, which are higher than the CPSC standard.

More on topic, my new Trek helmet that cost $40 would probably have cost 3-4 times that several years ago. I used to have an Airwave(don't remember how much I paid, tho), but I crashed with it on and decided to err on the side of caution and get rid of it. It was a real step up from my Bell before that.

Can you buy Specialized S-works helmets? They look like the bomb. Even greater than Lance's Giro stuff.
I checked the site but couldn't find it under the categories I looked at.

I got some Specialized decals with my helmet, put the big one on my Nalgene bottle.
It has since started peeling off (don't put them on the soft plastic bottles )
I have the 'air force', in black.
