do you know a mechanic who needs a job?

um...mods...i hope i can do this, otherwise just delete this and sorry if this is inappropriate.

sort of need a bike mechanic. MUST be able to bleed brakes and fix forks while talking and doing three other things and get most jobs done in an hour or less. MUST seriously know more about bikes than 90% of people, must know both road and mountain, mostly mountain. please pm me.

I will gladly move to Fruita & intern under you for free while you train me until I'm worthy of pay

Seriously though (& slightly off topic), is there any sort of official ASE type certification to get for bicycle mechanics? I know it's a pretty dang narrow field & probably not the best use of my finances given the economy, but it's something I'd definitely be interested in.

I suppose technically this falls outside the line; but really I'm viewing it as more of a peer-to-peer heads-up than a real ad, so I'm going to leave it be. Will pass this along to the two best underemployed wrenches I know too. Both seriously stellar.

When I tried this, they quickly pulled my simple sell my bike post, I guess it is okay for some, but not okay for others,

^^ A 'For Sale' ad is a lot different (in my mind anyway) than a "hey, I happen to know a shop looking for a mech" shout-out. There are probably other mods and admins that feel differently may have something to say on this; whatever. I'm sort of a laissez faire black sheep.

Pablo is offering a job, we don't have a subforum for that. You're selling a bike, we do have a subforum for that. Use it.

I think there is sub forum, I Found this under Classifieds: Cycling Related Job Postings: Help Wanted,

No big deal, I can accept that different moderators would be different,

I think I may have modded your selling topic. We definitely have a rule against that, and selling on the forum is one of the perks of having a Titanium membership.

With this topic, D got here first, and he's been around and been a mod for quite a bit longer than I have. I am not going to question his judgment on this one.

Sorry for any confusion, and hope that clears things up a bit.
