Hi guys/gals,

I beleive this my first post here and also so stoked that I've just bought a brandnew Santa Cruz Superlight frame for a good deal, the plan is to build it up with full XTRs and Fox fork...but my current bike is a sweet 21.8lbs litespeed hardtail that I am taking back to vietnam in Feb. for a 1200 miles touring trip. I'm concerned that with new FS I won't ride that HT that much. Do you guys/gals keep a second MTB just in case? After 6 years I have lots of memory with that Litespeed, it would hard to let it go. I keep two MTB's I simply converted the old one to commuter duty

I keep a hardtail and a singlespeed and ride them both. When I got the hardtail I had a ProFlex 856. A couple years later I got a 99' S-Works FSR-XC. I still have the hardtail, but not the fs bikes. Suspension designs come in and out of fad, but a good hardtail will never go bad. Hang on to it.

I do. But they arent similar. I would think if I had 2 bikes that were xc, the one would not get ridden

Agreed. With two bikes for the same purpose, one is going to bubble to the top as favorite. I have three bikes but they're very different: full-rigid old-school for cruising around, ultralight xc hardtail (my main ride), and a dedicated free-ride (lots of fun but not much terrain to ride it the way it should be ridden around here).

I also have two bikes... A Single speed Freeride hardtail, and a full on XC rig... I use both for different purposes...

That litespeed you have is awesome, good job building it.

I have 2 main bikes both are very different.My trail bike would not do the job my ss hardtail does and the other way around.

One BMX Cruiser
One Full Suspension Frame (cracked, need to send it in for warranty)
One Hardtail Frame (Need to find time to build)

One old Schwinn Tandemn (another project bike)

But seriously, how many miles do you have on each approximately? I fear you will become one of those crazy ladies with cats, only replace ladies with man, and cats with bicycles!

Not enough!

I've got a ton of miles on my road bike and since I bought my CX bike in the fall, I've only ridden my road bike once or twice. Probably have close to 1,000 miles on my CX bike already.

My full squish and my hardtail get ridden on a regular basis.

My SS sits in the garage and seldom gets used. I have a buddy that rides a SS and when he comes riding with me, I break out mine. So, not too many miles on it. Maybe just 500 or so. Not even. Maybe closer to 300.

My BMX is just for playing around the neighborhood and occasionally (very occasionally) I make it to the track. It was only $200 so it's more of a toy than anything. I like to take it jumping. It's chromoly and strong.
