Hoping you guys can help me out, just got a free Marin mountain bike, stx componennts, scott at2 bars, answer manitou magnum fork, parallax hubs, ritchey rock 440 rims, specialized nimbus tires, ritchey head set, shimano stx chainring set-up. Frame is 7005 aluminum, just wondered if I got some thing good, I am thinking of sell it oto put the money into one of my other projects, so I was hoping you guys could maybe give me a ball park figure. Thank you for any hints, tips or advice. Also need to know if selling entire bike out right would be better or part out.http://i1234.photobucket.com/albums/...er41/003-3.jpg

how can getting a free bike not be good? i'm sure you could sell if for a solid $150.

I was wondering what quality of bike is this, how does it rank compared to others out there, and yes any bike that is free is great.

Midrange bike about 15 years old. You won't get more than $200 for it. IMO if it's your only bike, you're better off keeping it and riding it than taking the money. $200 isn't really a whole lot.

That is a decent bike that you can do anything you have the legs and lungs for. Trying to part it out or build it up is more work that benefit. But that bike, like Dan points out is good for riding. You can use it for a commuter or trail rides. This is a good week for you.

http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=243440Around here you'd be lucky to get anything close to $200. The lower estimate of $150 is more realistic, but be prepared to bargain.
FYI, I just sold a 01 Specialized Hard Rock completely rebuilt with upgraded, newer Deore rear DR and Alivo front DR, plus Shimano triggers replacing the low end SRAM Grip shifters. The replacement shock was a period correct RockShox Judy. It brought $120. Judging by the number of hits I got, I priced it just right.
