How do i measure my shocks?

My rock shox have a bad seal and the lockout isnt working, so i am thinking about getting a new fork instead of repairing it but dont know how to measure mine so i can get the same size etc.

At first I thought the title said, How do i measure my socks?

What's the bike and model of fork? It's going to be easier to tell what the travel is if we know what the fork is.

I just got the bike from someone as i am new to mountain biking, it is a Giant and the guy changed the original fork out with this RockShox one, i cant see a model number or anything on the fork just its a SID and it says dual air.

So it's anywhere between 80 and 120mm.

Most likely 80mm or 100mm.....

I would consider getting it repaired. The sid is a very high end fork.

ok sounds good, ill look into getting it repaired instead, thanks. If i have to send it back to the company to get repaired do you have any idea on the turn-around time on repairing these?

If you take it to a lbs, they should be able to get the parts to fix it, and fix it there. So depending on how busy the shop is it could be anywhere at most from 1-2 weeks.

1-2 weeks? seriously? is that normal? we usually rebuild forks the same day, or next day if super busy...

Around here it can be, but is usually just a few days.

Western Slope people just know how to get things done!

When I had suspension, if I needed work on the suspension fork, and parts were in stock, it would be done in around an hour. Otherwise, next day.
