finally got pics of my mods so far
So yeah... I finally got un-lazy and took some pics of the stuff I've done to my bike so far. So here goes..
Avid Wavy Rotors:

Stem, headlight, cyclecomputer:
https://gallery.whatthe****.info/disp...e.php?pos=-765
Front shot of the handlebars (stem, headlight, levers)
https://gallery.whatthe****.info/disp...e.php?pos=-764
Close-up of my new SD-Ti levers:
https://gallery.whatthe****.info/disp...e.php?pos=-763
I would have new wheels to take a picture of but I decided to buy a 19" LCD flat panel for my computer instead.

I've been considering a new set of bars, but I don't really need them. However, I do think a nice set of carbon fiber bars would look nice with that easton stem. I love the new rotors especially since they don't squeal anywhere near as much as the stock ones do. I commute 5 days a week @ 3am, so the headlight was absolutely mandatory. I'm not sure why I upgraded the levers.. they were cheap and looked cool so I figured it wouldn't hurt. I will say that they do seem to have better leverage than my standard FR-5's did. Plus I have to admit I love being able to adjust lever travel on the lever itself without having to worry about adjusting the pads themselves. That means I can set my pads farther away from my rotor and still get short lever travel

I have easton EC70's i picked up on ebay used for 30 bucks, awsome condition. THe handlebars are super, i do XC but theres still some drops in the trail they stand up to fine, its feather light too. And lets face it, the weave pattern on carbon looks cool

I agree... Raiyn has a really nice carbon bar as well... the way it's designed and painted or whatever accentuates the weave. I think carbon looks trick. I wouldn't recommend it for a heavier rider but us light guys can ride it just fine.

I think it would do fine for a person over 200lbs. Carbon is very strong if it does noit have a chunk out of it, heck i do some jumps and ride down the occasional small set of stairs without problem.

I've never had a problem with EITHER of the Maxm bars that I run on both my commuter (I hide the logos with electrical tape so as to not attract attention on the commuter) and on my trailbike.
I have complete confidence in them due to the IsoGrid inner reinforcements.
IsoGrid is a structural reinforcement of carbon and aramid on the inside wall surface that allows for low weight while maintaining excellent strength. The lifetime warranty doesn't hurt either.
I wouldn't suggest a "normal" carbon bar for someone around my size (though some do ride them) but I'd steer them towards one of these babies without a second thought.
The only thing that could make the deal any sweeter is if they actually paid me.

and those maxm bars aren't overpriced anymore than any other name brand carbon bar.... so there's no good reason NOT to go with one of them.

Besides, the design just looks trick. If I can stop spending money on other random stuff I don't need, I might upgrade my bars next. Who knows.
