New type bike race-had to laugh!

There is a new thread on FB, Southern NV Mountain Bikers. There is a post on there for a race, a 3.5 mile dash. Everyone has to pony up $5., winner takes all. Then there is a ride and after party. Sounds like a kick to me. OH YEAH-restricted to SS. Anyone doing that on their trails?

Opps, sorry, it is on the thread Las Vegas Bicycle Exchange. That thread is a bike and parts and general info thread. It is actually a good idea that other communities might jump on board with. An online Bike Co-op.

I think it needs more local Vegas flavor. Winner only takes half; then at the end of the race has to bet it double-or-nothing on a hand of blackjack or something. Anything not won goes into the kitty for the next race.

that sounds like fun! but not everyone has a singlespeed. I'd vote to have a SS, HT and FS class.

^^ Sure they do. Undo cables, wire F&R derailleurs to a specific cog/chainring and - - voilą! - - singlespeed.

^ Yeah, just dial in your high/low adjustment screws to stay in the gear you want and loosen the bolts holding your shifter cables so that they don't engage the derailers. I'm sure if you show that you've done that then you'd qualify.

I challenge everyone to a bike race, tomorrow morning 7am! Bragging rights for this forum and thread. Bootleg Canyon, Mother Trailhead. Be there or be square.

^d, you know you always have a place to stay and a support vehicle IF you ever actually get here.

BTW, you, ed, Zeph and the rest owe me the price of a Roberto's Breakfast Burrito to honor me for my historic win.
