Help me value a CAAD4 29er
 

Very experienced roadie and tourer here looking to get a 29er to beat on in the winter and for easy commuting when I don't need to carry anything on my bike. Don't have much dirt here in nyc but a couple of limited trails and stuff to ride on. Stopped by my shop and they just happened to have a caad4 29er that someone traded in. Magura Julie hydraulic discs. XT rear der. LX FD and shifters. Coda double crank and it has that headshock fork. It comes with some mavic wheels mated to 32c cx tires. They are asking $500 for it. I'm sure I can probably talk them down somewhat, it's tough when I don't know what they gave in trade for it. I do know these guys well and they don't normally do much in the way of used trade in biz so they would probably be just as happy to sell it to me for what they paid out for it. My phone died so I can't post pics of it right now, but any thoughts would be great. surprisingly I'm having a hard time finding specific info on this bike from google and of all the pics I took, I forgot to see if I could get one of a serial number on the bottom bracket shell. I don't even know what year it is, all Iknow is in the road bike world, they are at CAAD 10 so this bike must be pretty old. Bike is in pretty good condition to my eye and I rode it a little bit and it rode pretty solid.

Got some more info. Apparently this is a "BAD BOY" Caad 4 frame. so it's designed to be sort of a mix btw a 29er, and cx bike. probably really exactly what my purpose would be with it. Still trying to peg what year it is and what a proper value would be for it
