    Best Places to Find Races..

So I'm lookin to get into racing in the 2013 season for road and mountain. Where is the best place to find these races? I really want to nail down a schedule so I know (or have an idea of) where I need to be.

I don't know since I'm in a completely different country, but perhaps you can contact a local cyclist organization or ask a club? There must be an official body that sanctions races, they must have a website where you can find a calendar.

There aren't a whole lot of avid racers on this forum, honestly.

Best place to start is with the USA Cycling site - - you can get a feel for what USAC-sanctioned races are within driving distance of where you live. Talk to your local shops - - they usually know the local race scene. And check Active.com for races in your area. Active.com is used as a third-party registration site by a lot of race directors because they have such good setup and organizational tools.

Also look up your local bike racing organization. Google it if necessary.

Talk to the guys in your LBS. There's at least someone who knows about various races or where to find them. You'll want to get to know them anyways. You'll be stopping by often when racing starts.
