Peugeot cm22 What do u think !
Hello every one, iam new to this forum but iam very grateful that i joined this very helpful and informative forum
Iam starting my first post by asking u to rate my new european bike, i have noticed that on this forum and mainly in the usa there is a very little number of european bike if at all.
in my country there is no USA made bikes only european.
and asking why is it that there is no european bike sold in the USA is it because they are unreliable or whats the real point.
now to my rig
Suntour XCT-MLO V4 100mm suspension forks
27 speed drivetrain
Shimano Acera RD 9spd
Shimano Alivio FD
Prowheel Crankset
Spectra rims 36h
Tecktro hydraulic disc brakes

That bike is what it is. Very entry level. Bikes like that are a dime a dozen in the US.
Also, there a plenty of European brands in the US, but they tend to be in the higher quality range.
Peugeot used to really mean something in the biking world (at least here in the US). As a matter of fact, I feel like buying this thing right now:

G'day from Australia mate you've got a nice bike but I see the frame and components more comparable with hybrid bikes. There's another sub forum for those you could post in.
I have a French made 1990 Peugeot Hurricane and love the bike.

I dunno, looks more like a MTB frame with the bent down tube for more tire clearance when the suspension is fully compressed. Looks like a nice rig to me, but I'm no expert either.

Brands like Cannondale, Trek or Giant from US and Orbea, Bianchi or Lapierre in Europe spend a lot of money in R&D every year to improve geometry and get lighter and more reliable bikes. It is established that Bikes from Peugeout, Jeep, BMW, etc., are fancy objects to ride in the city but not real MTB as far as I know but it does not mean your bike is not good.
THe components used in your bike: SunTour fork, Acera /Alivio Drivetrain are what you can find in entry level or hibrid bikes in brands such as GIant, Trek, etc., that you can buy in US for less than 600USD.
I am not saying those are bad quality components, in fact they work for XC, but for sure are not as good as superior level in shimano or Sram components.
Being your first one, this is a good bike and you can get a lot fun out of it for sure... later you will findout if you need to make some changes to ride better, faster and in a more comfortable way.

Well shes not the prettiest of the lot but it will get you from point A to B.
What country do you live in?
Next time you buy a bike you could try the internet. Even with shipping (assuming you are in central Europe.) and taxes you can get a pretty good deal.
And just so you know, there are no major bike manufacturers in the United States anymore, All the major American companies have their bikes build in Asia, mostly china, and higher end in Taiwan. There are still a lot of custom frame builders in the U.S. but nothing corporate.
Most european bikes in the U.S. are high end road bikes.

Nice looking bike. I'm sure is a good commuter. Ride it a lot and have fun. As someone stated before, there's not to many US made bikes around. Just names. And you can also find European brands in the US like Orbea, Pinarello, Colnago, BMC among others.

we be rollin'
I biked in an area where it went down then up very sharply. I ended up with my foot on the ground and the top tube of my frame was very close to my body. So I'd prefer a little more clearance. I also think you have a little more agility with a smaller frame. Larger frames might allow you to have your handlebars at a higher height, but if someone bought a new fork with an uncut steerer, they can always install the stem higher. I also find smaller frames give you a more upright position which I prefer.
