using lube for chain but not sure whats safe

I had a other post about wd40 and you guys were saying it doesn't really lubricate the chain so could I use Lucas upper cylinder lubricant its the only type of lube I have and I don't know if the chains I need a certain type of lube, this lube says its for engines but it also says cleans and lubricates (engine and car parts) someone please help
