I've ridden both. My dad owns a 2012 BMC SF01. The BMC would be my pick without reservation because of the rear suspension alone. It is a far better design for pedaling efficiency, but it's still responsive to small bumps.
It has a better fork and shock than the Camber Comp, as well. In fact I'm pretty sure the SF02 was originally priced quite a bit higher than the Camber Comp, so if they're both $1500 you are getting a much better discount on the BMC.

I had an SF02 and it was a great bike. Excellent efficiency and low weight for a 120mm bike. It did have a somewhat tall head tube though. I would chose it over the Camber any day. The line is a little more blurred for me with the 29er versions of these bikes, but that doesn't seem to be the question.

Biggest thing I noticed about the SpeedFox 26" frame is that the top tube is pretty long. Check your sizing on a test ride or work out your reach very carefully on paper. My dad's size L has a much longer eTT than my size XL Santa Cruz Blur-- so don't make any quick assumptions that you 'always' ride a given size.

I am a short rider, and so far have been loving the camber. Although my camber have been built from the frame up with aftermarket parts (deore xt, fox fork, hope+ztr wheelset) the frame geometry is perfect for my short arms and legs. I use this for xc riding, and at just over 12kg, is just the right balance between efficiency and comfort.
I absolutely love the fox triad 2 propedal rear shox that came with the frameset. I like it better than the fox float ctd on the stumpjumper, especially on long climbs.
Ive ridden the BMC SF, but the riding position is a bit too aggressive for me. If I was racing, Id get the BMC.. But for my long xc rides, Id take the camber.
