I would use it, If youwant mechs Id go with Avids they are great and HIGHLY adjustable, Hayes are good too, but not as adjustable as Avids, in Hindsight I wish I got Avids, but for the price the 05 mechs where a STEAL AND A HALF (on ebay) 83 bucks for calipers, rotors, cables levers an bolts nana nana boo boo.

I wouldn't use them. The only mechs that IMO are good are Avid mechs.

They are the same thing as Promax discs at walmart. They suck period. You would be better off doing a foot jam.

I have looked at the price over and over again. Avids (I am actually looking right now) and I get hayes hydros for 30 american cheaper than the whole avid set (I would need to buy levers)

I get hayes mags - the set 8in 300cdn (through jenson...still cheaper than avids at 340cdn)

Avid (prices are from jenson, on the shop I use the prices are even higher)
avid 8in front - 180cdn
avid 8in rear - 180cdn
2 sets of levers - 140cdn for the pair (mid range ones, I could never afford the higher end)
Total - 500cdn

I have walked through this 100 times. If you have levers avids are a good price, otherwise, they aren't period.

I was actually thinking of buying them for my dirtjumper (I don't want the hydro line breaking on a bar spin or something) but I can't justify spending that much more on mechs (for the prices I can get)
