Inner Universe

I live in Florida and it's currently raining every day. I bike on trails that extend out on a forestry preserve and it gets extremely muddy and there are long pools of water on all the bike trails. I'm hesitant to bike now since I only have one pair of shoes I use for everything so I feel it's time to invest in some waterproof boots.

I'm looking for a recommendation of water proof boots that will be comfortable for both walking and biking. I'd like to be able to walk my bike through the more flooded parts of the trails since biking through it kicks up mud all over myself.

What can I get for 100 dollars or less? Was thinking of checking out Walmart but want some recommendations first. Also any good ideas for legwear or shirts while out on the trails? I usually wear shorts since it's so hot out year round but the mosquitoes are killing me out there now. Anything that can handle being soaked by mud/water/sweat would be nice.

mud guards / fenders will help quite a bit, but you're still going to get filthy. you could wear any number of waterproof hiking shoes but water will enter the top of the shoe or even boot unless you also wear gaiters, which I would think would be very hot.
