Was this a good deal???
Today I purchased a 2013 Specialized Stumpjumper FSR Elite 26er from the local bike shop. The bike is retailed right now on most sites a $4099.99. I paid $3025 out the door. Lifetime tune-ups and adjustments from a great shop. Heres a link to the bike. Just wondering if you guys think I got a good deal or are these bikes just marked way up.. Thanks everyone

That's a very good bike. I think you did fine on the price, and there's not much point in debating alternatives since you've already bought it.

Factor in the life-time tunes, and I think you should be laughing at all times when riding or even THINKING about that purchase.

I think you got taken. Cut your losses; I'll relieve you of the burden of shame for what you paid less 10%.

I ride that bike now and it is a great cross country bike. The frame is light and it climbs very well. On serious downhills (double black diamond stuff - where you really shouldn't take this bike) it can bottom out and you have to be careful not to overheat the brakes. It tends to skid it's rear around steep switchbacks which can be fun once you get onto it. One of my riding companions just bought a Santa Cruz Blur TRc and it one of the few bikes I've encountered that may be a better hill climber - but it's carbon! I've also ridden this bike in SW Utah and it is ideal for the rolling desert single tracks.
You've got a good bike and the price seems pretty good. But the main thing is you've got the bike; the $$ is just water under the bridge.
