Cannondale Trail SL 29er 3R Single Speed Hardtail Mountain Bike

For a first mountain bike, in a flat area, what do you think of the Cannondale Trail SL 29er 3R Single Speed Hardtail Mountain Bike?

There is one in my LBS I am looking at. I like the disc brakes. I like the single speed idea as well - that is type of bike I do not have.

I have a slightly bad back, (age 50 and happy to be riding) so will never be a "psycho" mountain biker.
However, in Dayton Ohio we have five or six fairly flat mountain bike trials nearby.
Additionally, I can change the tires and use it as a winter bike on the trails.

I know lots about vintage steel framed road bikes. In know absolutely nothing about mountain bikes.

Thank you.

IMO, you cannot go wrong with a Cannondale Trail bike. If the price is right and the fit is good, go for it. I am always amazed at how light their trail bikes are. I see the Trail SL 2 at my LBS and it always captivates my attention.
