I would like to mount WTB 1st Gen Weirwolf 26 x 2.1 UST with tubes on my regular rims. (I知 totally new to the MTB arena, so bear with me pls.) The question is, can I use them on standard rims and use a tube? Why would I want to? Because at $5 a tire, this would be a great way to try different tires for light snow, gravel, or trails. They sound like good tires. And they match. I知 a roadie, so if I want to go fast I値l be on the highway. Winter riding is probably going to be cold, wet, dirty streets and whatever snow I can handle. Luck that snow usually means warmer weather. These tires have 80% tread.

Also from the same seller has a single Continental Diesel 26 x 2.5, and a Geax Barro Mtn 26 x 2.3 wire bead. Any reason I cannot put the Conti on the back and the Geak Barro on the front? These have 100% tread.

They're 5 bucks.
Buy them all and keep what you like.
Give the rest to a local co-op.

I like the idea of trying all those different options. We don't even have snow here, but I would give those bikes a shot. Keep what you want and look for a Giant Bike Yard Sale this spring. We have a couple of them put on by the Parks and Recreation Dept. Tons of people turn out. Do some buying and selling. Plus its a great place to meet people who do what you do.

Hint: if you use the 2.5 and the 2.3, use the bigger tire up front
