Nashbar 26" Mountain Frame

Hello,
I am active duty Marine Corps and during a recent move to Okinawa Japan my 1999 Haro Escape was destroyed. They crushed the rear derailleur and cracked the frame. I was able to salvage the forks, Rockshox Jett, and most of the smaller parts, handlebar, stem, seat, etc. I was looking online and found the Nashbar 26" mountain bike frame for $99. I read a couple of reviews and most people seem to like it, whit a couple exceptions. My plan was to re-use my old wheels, forks, handlebars and brakes and buy a new SRAM X5 gearset. Most of the measurements between the two frames are so similar it makes me feel this will work, my only concern is the fork. I have read that this older fork might not work and cause some geometry issues with the new frame. Any thoughts on this? I know I can buy a complete used bike for only a couple of bucks more, but I figure this would be a great bike for about $350 total.
