Hey guys thanx for your help, I went and bought a used but mint condition 2001 (I think) Trek 6000, with small bike pump, chain, maybe a helmet later on. $400 Kind of pricey, but I guess it might be worth it, feels good. Fork is a bit weird, cant really shut it off from moving in and out when riding . But i guess it is good for when you hit bumps etc. I think its fairly stock except the handle bar ends.
here are some pictures, WARNING , they are over 1mb each so with cable connections welcome

I think this bike is mostly for XC right? i might jump some curbs / small jumps but I highly doubt it would survive 3ft+ jumps with a 170 lb guy. Time will show, might upgrade some stuff . but for now just going to enjoy riding, feels nice even in cold weather

Looks like a nice bike! I have a 2001 Specialized Rockhopper with that fork, it's not very high-end but it does the job just fine. You might want to try to change the elastomers to firmer ones, if you can find them. When I was riding my Rockhopper a lot I weighed about 130 and I'd bottom out the fork fairly often with the stock elastomers. That would reduce the bobbing up and down while you're riding as well.
$400 sounds a little bit high for a 4-year-old bike, but as you say it does look to be in mint condition. It looks brand new indeed.

guy rode it 2 times , it looks more dirty from being in apartment then from being on street, the tires still have those little rubber things on them . basically brand new, he wanted 600 for it, then 450, and today i just got it for 400, I dont know if good/ or bad, seems reasonable. I think it has decent components. But cant be 100% sure. What are the elastomers? hard to replace? also what does spinning the knobs on top of the fork do? make it softer/harder?
thanx

My Trek 800 Sport has thoes exact brakes, break levers, front derailleur, had that kickstand and various other things.
Btw that seat sucks, I know cause it also came on mine, it cracked then ripped within the first month of riding, so you might want to get a new one now to save yourself the heartache later

Haha I got lazy and didn't bother letting the pic load. In that case I don't know.
