Right leg of pants

My jeans have rips here, its pretty obvious why. Im just wondering what people do to prevent their pants from getting caught in the sprocket?

I don't prevent it I just wear really old pants that don't really fit me very well anymore, problem solved, no more nice pants ruined

But I only wear pants when it's cold out anyway.

If I'm wearing pants (for just a short ride or whatever), I'll either roll up the right leg a bit or use one of those elastic/velco leg bands (https://www.bicycleclothing.com/Legbands.html). I've got a pair that I picked up cheap ($1-2 pr) from my local big chain "sporting goods" shop. They've got reflective tape on them too, so they are also nice to have at night.

well ide love to say I can wear shorts. But it doesnt work well in new england this time of year, although summers coming. I ask because yesterday my jeans caught the largest sprocket, and it threw me to the ground with force. So today i found one of those spokes those idiots sent that are way to long, hooked each and and wrapped it around, it worked

There are clips for your pants. If you don't wanna buy them, elastic bands all the way!

As for me, that use to happen to me, but one day enough was enough so i took off the third ring. I have never looked back.

today i got my pants cut a bit by the chain for first time in probably 10 years or my whole life . Hard to get used to being confortable on bike yet, since I m usually used to the brakes that you use the pedals with ( 1 gear i guess) , thats the one's we had back in russia, but here i have to keep my hands on the brakes in order to be able to stop when i d need to, so it keeps me on my toes a bit, trying to get used to it, and adjusting the height of the bars to make it more easier now.

I have the same problem when I'm riding my bike back and forth from school. The way I stopped it was by basically tight rolling my right pant leg. looks kindof funny, but it works.

I use metal clips. Im getting Holzfellers, MRP chainguide, and a bashguard soon. Clips suck and make my right leg all sweaty. I try to wear shorts whenever I can.

I wear shorts or roll the pant leg up a few turns. Scared the crap out of myself and wrecked some khakis about a month ago when I didn't roll them and I jumped a 4 stair set while fooling around. The middle chainring grabbed the pant and pulled my foot right off the pedal as I tried to pedal kick. I ended up landing short and with only one foot on the pedals, but somehow didn't fall.

The moral is to always tuck/tie/roll the pants before doing anything risky.

All you need to do is take some pride in what you post.
Also a rubber band isn't the best of ideas unless you've got chicken legs or something. Best thing to do is get a Velcro ankle strap. Several manufactueres make them with a reflective strip on them as well. Another thing that works well is a peice of WIDE elastic that you can get at a fabric shop. Sewing theends together isn't a hard thing and as long as you size it a bit smaller than the point on your leg were it is to be placed it will stay just fine

Little Devil is a BMX clothing company that makes jeans with a little snap on the right and left leg of their jeans to hold them out of the way.
