29 inches

Apols the noob mtb question, but what are the advantages and disadvantages of 29 inch wheels? Bike would be for multi day trips on trails and other off road (rack braze ons needed) but not for technical or single track.

Couldn't find the answer with a search, although I am sure it must be here somewhere, so feel free to point me toward a previous thread if that's easier.

Many thanks
