what the hell is this QR20 and would a fork with it work on a hardrock sport 2005

It's a fork with a 20mm quick release axle.It will work on a hard rock but you will need a new wheelbuild with a 20mm hub.

I have QR20 on my HR. I changed out the fork with a Z1 and I have a ringle thru axle hub that I laced

QR20 means the diameter of the Quick Release axle is 20mm, instead of the regular 9mm size on most bikes. They are many times stronger, thus you mainly see them on DH bikes or DJ bikes. They're very strong.
