Looking to buy a new mountain bike
I am looking to buy a new mountain bike for around 800 dollars.
I would like a hardtail 29er or 27.5er.
I would be using it to bike to work but mainly hitting trails and taking it to the mountains.
I have been going to the bike stores in my city (Edmonton) and haven't been able to really make up my mind.
Just wanted to hear any suggestions on which bikes are best at the price range of around 800.

This usually goes a lot smoother if you narrow it down to three or four bikes. Two would be best. But an open question like yours will get most telling you to buy their fav brand. As an example, I think you ought to buy a Rockhopper. My reasoning, it was my first new mountain bike nine years ago.
If you narrow it down to the brands you and models you like, the responses will be much better.
