So my first "upgrade was a Kore riser bar and some ergon grips with bar ends. The kore turned out to be wider than the stocker and with the grips made it look like a moose ! And thus it was dubbed.
Question for you other f/b owners. Have you experienced diminishing returns on handlebar width? I worry that at some point I may be crashing through the woods and snag a branch with the bars. Clearly i can cut mine down. So much real estate I could carry a case of beer up there. Hmmmm.....

I had to do a 1-2 to get it out the front door. I'm sure it won't fit in the car, as the ds barely makes it as is.

I like my 800mm wide Spank risers. I thought I'd have to cut them down but I like them as they are. Yeah I get pretty close to clattering trees when riding in the woods, but I've gotten used to that, too.

I had one and didnt like it. I guess there not for everyone. In anything over a few inches of snow, its really slow going, lots of resistance, and deep soft sand, forget it. Really low gear going nowhere. Not a scrooge here. I see it as a cool novelty, but novelty it is. Something different to add to your stock.

What a workout just pedaling up and down the snowy streets! Powder on a hard surface is good. Packed snow and slush is good. The transitional stuff between the two is challenging to say the least. I've come to realize I've lost most of any off-road skills I ever had. I've forgotten how to skid ? Egads.
But riding around watching everyone with their snowblowers and shovels, taking down christmas lights, and noticing not one had a smile. Priceless.
I know. That's awful. But I couldn't help myself.
The spouse has a bad hip so any pics are stills in the back yard. But I'm going out again later. Action shots forthcoming!

I hit the park trail on Sunday after a few inches of snow overnight. It was that powdery stuff on top of ice and frozen dirt. It was a good few inches deep in places and even deeper where it had drifted. That was a tough mutha of a ride! I saw two sets of 4" tracks and both gave up at around the one mile mark!
But I was glad I did it - a good workout for 1.45 minutes.

I like the bikes with plenty of clearance on the top tube, makes it easier when you're having to put a foot down regularly or get going on a hill from a standing start.....I wish mine had that.
Is there snow where you live?

My main problem is not that Im to streched out, my strech is fine, it that my whole boddy is far to forwards when decending so I am going to make my bars more vertical, maby evan angle them backwards a bit so I have more hight and and push back my COG a bit, also gonna see if I can push the seat back but think I might need a lay-back seat-post, also could just be I need to get used to it.
Iv orderd some Vee Bulldozer 4.7" to replace my ornage Vee Mission 4" as the orange was to much and also I want the extra width / better tred pattern and much better compound.
I am going to 1*10 it when cash allows to make rideing more fun and less thinking about what gear I am in.
I also tempted to change the damed white grips...nightmere to keep clean, and I have a bash wring also to protect it but mainly to stop my trousers getting ripped ahaha.

Anyone noticing bike performance/ mechanical issues in the cold? I think my front brake cable shrunk today. Not enough to apply the brake but the freeplay was tiny! And the headset grease got sticky!
I brought it inside when I got home an all is normal again.
So fun to be out in it when everyone else is looking at you like you're nutso.

fatboy cycling, is that the Ritchey? I did the same thing today. Somewhere around the 15 mile mark after fighting mixed media, I bonked. Hard. Had to walk a little and I nursed a clif bar to get me home. Derrrr.
