Recommend Tire Pressures for a 100 mile event
Doing a 100 mile MT Bike race soon. I done them before. I like some ideas of what you all would use or recommend for tire pressure.
On average i ride 45 to 50 psi on both tires, as i dont want any pinch flats
i ride a full suspension
course is a lot of mud, gravel roads, dirt roads, ski doo trails, not much single track or anything with roots. And some pavement. about 6% pavement.
Also idea of a tire for rear? i am using a Kenda brand on back.

WOW, quite a variety of trail conditions for a single ride. Kenda makes a good variety of tires. I have a Kenda Karma on the front that I really trust. A MAxxis HighRoller or Minion might be a good choice for a push tire. Tall lugs and tough. Mavic makes a Crossroc that is popular. I don't have any experience with the Crossroc, but it is popular. I am running the High Roller right now and it is perfect for the gravel and hard pack of the desert.
For the length of the ride I would want to keep the pressure higher and hope that a little less rolling resistance doesn't lay me down on the rocks somewhere.

Even with full suspension, I can't imagine running 45-50psi. On my rigid (tubeless) 29er, I run pressures as low as 19psi (front).
Which model Kenda tire are you currently running?

I would do some riding with pressures in the low to mid 30's to see how it feels..having done a few 100 milers I think you'll benefit from the added ride quality and cornering traction compared to the 40+ psi you've been running. Rolling resistance and psi is a much argued subject but selecting good rolling tires with strong sidewalls would be high on my list of priorities for endurance events.
